Youth Ministry at North River
The people of NRCC love Kids!
Though we are a small congregation we have a deep desire to see kids grow in a relationship with Jesus. We provide classes for kids of all ages. Because the classes are small, those involved get personal attention and are able to develop good relationships with the adults who serve them.
We are currently rebuilding our investment in teens as over the past few years most have graduated and moved on into significant ministry. A significant focus of this ministry to teens is to challenge them to live toward a significant purpose much larger than self.
Between the focus of our educational system, and the relationships developed within our youth ministry together this body of believers raises exceptional young adults for the Kingdom of God.
Extended Ministry Opportunities:
Smokey Mountain Christian Camp
Sweetwater, TN
Located at the edge of the Smoky Mountains within hiking distance of North Carolina, SMCC is a great place for area teens to go for a summer camp experience.
Kids of all ages [age 10-20] attend from all over East and Central Tennessee.
The camp offers intense spiritual direction and encouragement, service weeks, wilderness weeks, great times for worship and fellowship, and even backpacking trips to the Grand Canyon.
SMCC continues to make significant investments in our nation’s youth, with a burning desire to see them grow in Jesus and become influential in the world around them for the Kingdom of God.
Tennessee Christian Teen Convention
Gatlinburg, TN
TCTC met this January in snowy Gatlinburg with over 4800 teens from 7 different states for an extraordinary time of worship, fellowship and just plain craziness.
This unique event is specifically crafted each year with some of the best Christian musicians, speakers, and entertainers in the Kingdom. The workshops are always custom designed to meet the needs of today’s teen culture. TCTC is truly a life altering event. Various members of NRCC have served on the planning board and participated in leadership roles of TCTC for years.

Education Ministry
Everything we teach from age 2 through adults is designed with a single purpose in mind.
We want all students to hold a solid understanding of what they believe and why they believe it. Jesus calls his children to learn what it means to be Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God.
Genuinely following Jesus holds the authority to shape virtually every aspect of our life. We believe that the core values of a believer will consistently look something like this:
Core: the hard center or innermost part.
Values: that which is desirable or worthy of esteem for its own sake: a thing or quality of intrinsic worth.
Core Values:
Passionately Committed to Jesus Christ- Wholeheartedly abandoning my heart and will to Christ as Lord and to His will as my command. Matthew 16:24
Biblically Measured- Accepting the Bible as the Word of God and my only rule of faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16
Morally Pure- Making choices in my life that are consistent with the new life I have in Christ. Ephesians 4:17-5:21
Family Centered- Making choices in my life that are consistent with my design to live and grow in vital relationships, including marriage, family, and biblical community. Romans 12:3-21
Financially Generous- Making financial choices in my life that are consistent with the gracious heart of God. 2 Corinthians 8:1-9:15
Socially Responsible- Reaching out to others in my realm of opportunity with works of service, in Jesus' Name. Matthew 5:16, James 1:27
Evangelistically Bold- Reaching out to others in my realm of opportunity with words of hope, in Jesus' Name. Acts 1:8, Romans 10:11-15
