Men's Ministry at North River

We exist to influence the men we encounter toward a lifestyle that is
passionately committed to Jesus Christ and increasingly shaped by His character.

Iron Men is a group of men dedicated to strengthening the family of every man who walks in the door. We agree with Patrick Morley who wrote:

"Every man wants something to give his life to, someone to share his life with,
and a system that gives a reasonable explanation for why the first two are so difficult."

Therefore, we are learning to encourage one another as brothers. We enjoy both building with our hands and learning together. We are committed to studying together to strengthen one another as iron sharpens iron. We are also committed to being a part of what God is doing to transform the lives of men, women, and families through the men of NRCC.

Our vision for this ministry is to see it grow to become all inclusive; By that we mean:

• Everything we do as a congregation that touches men is men's ministry.
• The size of our men's ministry is equal to the total number of men at NRCC, plus every man we would seek to influence for Jesus.
• We believe that in order to heal marriages, strengthen families, and raise healthy influential children, we have to begin with the men in their lives.

We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom,
so that we may present every man complete in Christ. Colossians 1:28

Coming This Fall!! Men's Fraternity: Winning at Work and Home This 16 week study, focuses on the two areas that are central to a man's life: career and family. We will begin to build the walls of manhood through the study together dealing with a man's chief responsibilities. We will explore how a man can enjoy and engage his work and how he can relate to the women in his life in a whole new way.   This is a Men's Fraternity Small Group Study IRON MEN: SHAPING MEN- SHAPING CULTURE

Operation Shoebox   Our Men's Ministry adopts local soldiers currently serving our nation in Iraq and/or Afghanistan for the duration of their tour. Every month we send boxes filled with personal hygiene items, as well as snacks, books and magazines to encourage them in their difficult journey. Over the past year we have consistently sent boxes to nearly 20 soldiers. This ministry has been so well received that local businesses and organizations have chosen to partner with us to supply materials and sent boxes on their own. Starbucks has donated several hundred pounds of coffee that has been sent overseas and is also used in receptions at nearby bases for returning soldiers.
